  • Complete repairs and perform maintenance on equipment
  • Completes all certifications, ongoing education, and dealer training to remain up to date on equipment
  • Perform work as necessary and in accordance with manufacturer standards
  • Work overtime as necessary including evening and weekends
  • Basic testing knowledge of all machine systems
  • 12/24 /36/48 volt electrical
  • HPH diagnosis and repair
  • Expert level knowledge of forklifts, including cushion and pneumatic
  • Be able to work on every aspect of a cushion and pneumatic forklift
  • Laptop skills (ability to use programs to diagnose as needed)
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Develops and employs diagnostic related reasoning skills
  • Examine the equipment to determine if additional shop service work is required
  • Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe working environment both in shop and at customer job sites
  • Maintains and cares for shop tools, equipment, and vehicles
  • Completes all paperwork required for jobs
  • Maintains positive working relationships with service, parts and administrative personnel
  • Communicates with customers in a way that creates good will
  • Responsible for operating heavy equipment and trucks in a safe manner
  • Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes

Resident Heavy Equipment Technician Qualifications and Experience:

  • GED/HS DIPLOMA  PLUS   Minimum 2 year Diesel Technology, Ag Technology, Automotive Technology or Heavy Equipment Technology degree or equivalent experience
  • 2-5 years of experience working on hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems or heavy equipment maintenance experience preferred
  • Welding and cutting torch experience preferred
  • Basic tool set and storage
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
  • Must be personable, highly motivated, a problem solver, reliable, ethical and able to adapt to all forces around them from customers, suppliers, coworkers and manufacturers
  • Requires a valid driver’s license, possess or have ability to obtain a CDL rating and the ability to maintain an insurable driving record
  • Must pass a criminal background check and drug screen that includes medical marijuana
  • Be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  •  The employee is frequently required to walk; climb or balance; crawl; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee will use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee will occasionally be required to lift and manipulate moderately heavy-to-heavy objects such as parts (up to 50 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday. 
  • The employee will be occasionally required to lift 5-10 lbs overhead. 
  • The employee will be expected to climb, inspect, work on and dismount heavy construction equipment daily.
  • The employee will frequently be required to push, pull, and hinge at the waist to inspect both equipment and parts and make equipment repairs.  
  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Use heavy power tools daily.
