Pre-Fabrication Manager, Mechanical Construction

As a Pre-Fabrication Manager, Mechanical Construction you:
- Ensure all work in the shop is executed in the safest manner possible.
- Ensure all work is completed at the level of quality required to satisfy the client.
- Participate in pre-construction meetings to evaluate the pre-fabrication scope.
- Are aware of project goals and milestones - timing of deliverables.
- Participate in Plan Group's T.I.M.E. efficiency program which will aid in the completion of tasks.
- Coordinate with the shop coordinator on execution & delivery schedules.
- Review and comment on spool drawings prior to fabrication.
- Track all material and heat numbers.
- Coordinate with TSSA when required.
- Verify completed work with the fabrication drawings prior to delivery.
- Facilitate loading, tracking and shipping completed work.
- Work closely with the Safety Department- PSI- weekly and monthly audits.
- Proactive management of shop manpower.
- Co-ordinate deliveries.
- Co-ordinate with equipment vendors to ensure installation details are performed correctly.
- Are responsible for tools/equipment and rentals pertaining to the shop.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with clients and consultants.
- Develop & maintain shop standard catalogue.
Our ideal candidate has:
- Mechanical Engineering post-secondary education or progressive experience in the areas of industrial manufacturing supervision, production control, and production management in a metal fabrication environment.
- Solid understanding of labor planning.
- Familiar with process flow concepts and shop floor controls.
