This position supports the Bureau of Land Management Idaho Office. ? The BLM Experienced Services Program is a unique partnership created to help solve the workforce issues facing government agencies. The program connects experienced workers (age 55+) to the BLM to provide scientific, technical, and administrative support. ? BLM ESP positions are meant to provide temporary, project-based support. ? A background security investigation may be required prior to the start date. Only those positions with 30+ hours per week are eligible for health insurance benefits; all positions will accrue sick leave. ? The experienced workers participating in the Program are referred to as ?Enrollees? and are not employees of the BLM or NEW Solutions. NEW Solutions is the ESP non-governmental organization responsible for administrative aspects of the program, and the Enrollees work under BLM direction to assist the Agency staff in carrying out their mission. BLM ESP Enrollees benefit from the opportunity to keep technical skills current; to access new training opportunities; to engage in gainful project-based positions; and to undertake meaningful tasks using their experience and talent to contribute to the environment, the national economy, and their own financial security.

Qualifications:

HS/GED Degree

  • Experience required with Windows, MS Excel, MS Word
  • MS Teams
Duties:

Enrollees will help in processing the water right files, assembling boxes and box inventory lists in preparation for further processing.

  • Combining files into one complete file.   60%
  • Boxing and labeling the combined files.   20%
  • Reviewing the scanned files for accuracy.   10%
  • Shipping the combined and scanned files to the retention center.   5%
  • Filing loose documents.   5%

Other:
  • As needed for on-the-job procedures and using Word/Excel.
  • Overnight travel: 1-2 trips per month; trips range from 1-5 days
  • Rental cars: possibly, if gov vehicle is not available
  • Physical requirements: Mostly sedentary work. Individual will be working with files and boxes of files, may be using a dolly as well as needing to bend down to get files on the lower shelves.
