This position supports the Bureau of Land Management HQ210 Office in Lakewood, Colorado. ? The BLM Experienced Services Program is a unique partnership created to help solve the workforce issues facing government agencies. The program connects experienced workers (age 55+) to the BLM to provide scientific, technical, and administrative support. ? BLM ESP positions are meant to provide temporary, project-based support. This position is currently funded for 560 hours. ? A background security investigation may be required prior to the start date. Only those positions with 30+ hours per week are eligible for health insurance benefits; all positions will accrue sick leave. ? The experienced workers participating in the Program are referred to as ?Enrollees? and are not employees of the BLM or NEW Solutions. NEW Solutions is the ESP non-governmental organization responsible for administrative aspects of the program, and the Enrollees work under BLM direction to assist the Agency staff in carrying out their mission. BLM ESP Enrollees benefit from the opportunity to keep technical skills current; to access new training opportunities; to engage in gainful project-based positions; and to undertake meaningful tasks using their experience and talent to contribute to the environment, the national economy, and their own financial security.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 year(s) of experience in Administrative Support. OR HS/GED Degree OR Previously completed training in Microsoft Office applications

  • Experience required with Windows, MS Excel, MS Word, MS SharePoint
  • BLM Specific Software: DTS
Duties:

The position tasks include in office opening and processing incoming protest letters delivered via postal service, overnight delivery service, or courier, to the office address and scanning these into a PDF electronic file. Uploading PDF files of scanned letters to a Microsoft O365 Share Point site established and maintained by the bureau. The position will print out bureau Assistant Director signed protest decision response letters, print out all associated protesting party address mailing labels, affix labels to envelopes, and prepare and send response letters via Certified Mail within the bureau office utilizing bureau supplies, office space, computers and printers. The HQ-210 Division Chief will advise the position.

  • Health and Safety Considerations: Requires IT training for compliance with policies associated with using a government computer. Can be completed using DOI Talent.
  • Physical requirements: Must be able to enter the Denver Federal Center office, operate a computer, and handle and process the required mail activities.
