Production Supervisor

Amphenol Charles Industries' new plastic enclosure facility seeks a 2nd Production Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of the production floor. This role ensures that manufacturing processes run smoothly, efficiently, and within the set quality standards. The Production Supervisor will manage a team of production workers, ensure adherence to safety regulations, and work towards continuous improvement in the production process. 

 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Plans production activities and ensures effective supervision of production lines.
  • Provide immediate supervision to a group of employees, assigning tasks, checking work at frequent intervals, and maintaining schedules;
  • Responsible for the daily production team's output.
  • Ensuring product quality, on-time shipping and safety.
  • Work closely with plant manager and manufacturing engineers to improve production output.
  • Participate in all continuous improvement activities through the utilization of lean manufacturing. product quality, plant throughput, and delivery performance.
  • Responsible for meeting performance targets for production, delivery, costs, quality, and safety.
  • Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action;
  • Identify and implement product improvement and efficiency initiatives to achieve cost savings targets.
  • Communicate with the procurement department to ensure timely supply of materials.
  • Onboard, train, and retain qualified staff by providing strong supervision and tracking employee performance.
  • Participate in Safety Investigations after an accident and give recommendations. Audit SOP's.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 Required Skills/Abilities:  

  • Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.
  • Ability to apply fractions, addition, subtraction, division and decimals, and common fractions in all units of measure.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety procedures and shipping / receiving processes and procedures.
  • Define problems and troubleshoot situations using strong conceptual thinking abilities.
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment and mechanical equipment and tools.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Efficient time management skills.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Associate's degree in business administration or related field.
  • Three years of Production experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of Two years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting is required.
  • Previous experience leading continuous improvement initiatives required.
  • Experience in the plastic and assembly industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office Systems.
  • Working knowledge of MRP or similar software programs.

Work Environment:  

The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential job functions.

  • Employees regularly work near moving, vibrating, mechanical equipment, occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Exposed to minimal risk of electrical shock. The noise level is moderate.
  • Safety shoes/boots are required.
