Laundress

Our clients have a busy Palm Beach primary residence. They would like to hire a highly experienced, full-time, year-round laundress. It is a plus if candidates are bilingual in English and Spanish.

 

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the entire laundry operation for a private residence, including handwashing and ironing, steaming, pressing. Ensure that daily tasks are completed.
• Maintain supplies and alert Executive Housekeeper when replacements are needed.
• Follow SOPs and checklists, give feedback as needed.
• Wardrobe management, keeping closets neat and orderly. Assist with tagging all clothing items.
• Maintain the prescribed levels of clothing, accessories, and shoes. Alongside the EHK, keep a garment and linen inventory.
• Packing and unpacking.
• Maintain footwear, polishing, cleaning, and organizing repairs.
• Maintain the dry-cleaning log, checking each item upon return.
• Maintain cleaning equipment (washing machine, irons, dryers, etc.)
• Run errands as requested.

 

Qualifications:

• Prior experience working as a laundress in a private home or luxury hotel property with a desire to offer five-star service.
• Excellent skill set including knowledge in the care of fine fabrics and couture pieces and a thorough understanding of cleaning processes and products.
• Ability to perform minor repairs.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication.
• Works well as part of a team; all hands-on deck attitude.
• Fluent English. Some Spanish is beneficial.

 

Schedule

Generally, five days per week, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm with the ability to work extended, weekend, and holiday hours as requested. Occasional travel to other residences may be requested.
