System Administrator

Summary

The System Administrator will assist the IT department by administering a variety of IT systems to support Manufacturing Operations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for PC workstations and phones 
  • Install & Maintain new computers and/or upgrade existing computers  
  • Assist with the IT New Hire process including account set-up, PC set up, phone set-up, etc 
  • Provide daily maintenance operating system patches and software upgrades, and routine hardware configuration 
  • Monitor and maintain PCs for legal compliance to software licenses and corporate policies 
  • Help identify, diagnose, and resolve network problems  
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all IT services and related processes 
  • Support and maintain IT infrastructure including multiple windows servers (domain controllers, file, print, application, web) Active Directory, IIS, Group Policies 
  • Maintain LAN/WAN equipment including firewalls, switches, and VPN solution. 
  • Support Microsoft related technologies: Windows Server, Office 365/Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, etc. 
  • Keep up to date with current with new hardware/software products for system enhancements. 
  • Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities 
  • Designing, building, testing, and deploying the technical components required for successful On-Prem Network Infrastructure solutions 
  • Participate in IT strategy planning activities 
  • Assess the relative impact of IT industry trends to current and future enterprise infrastructure needs and projects 
  • Lead IT asset management to ensure assets full lifetime cycle value is achieved 

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related demonstrated experience 
  • 3 - 10 years of client and server administration 
  • MCP/MSCE/MSCA/A+ or HDI CSS or Cisco certification preferred 
  • Experience implementing client desktop and laptop installations 
  • Experience resolving problems in a Windows environment 
  • Disciplined, systematic problem-solving skills 
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written  
  • Self-starter who works well both independently and with a team 
  • This position requires full-time on-site presence at our Wallingford, CT office
