Parking Conversion Crew (part-time)

We are seeking energetic and customer service oriented Parking Conversion Crew member to join our Parking Services team. The parking conversion crew member will set up traffic cones, street closures and parking signage prior to events and stores away all items after each event under the direction of the Parking Event Coordinator. During the event, directs traffic inside Parking Garages or surface lots and assists guests with vehicle problems.

Position Overview:     

Sets up traffic cones, street closures and parking signage prior to events and stores away all items after each event under the direction of the Parking Event Coordinator. During the event, directs traffic inside Parking Garages or surface lots and assists guests with vehicle problems, such as jump-start or flat tire.

Essential Functions: including the following, other duties may be assigned.

  • Places traffic cones, barricades, signs, and all traffic control devices in their proper location for ingress and egress
  • Stores all traffic cones after each event, barricades, signs, and other traffic control devices in their proper location
  • Assists guests when they need help with a jumpstart or tire change
  • Repairs barricades and equipment as needed
  • Turns escalators on and off and cleans as needed
  • Assists with traffic flow during events to ensure traffic does not stop, but flows continually inside Parking Garage or surface lots
  • Follows all golf cart operating procedures
  • Arrives early and stays until the end of the event for cone and sign pick up
  • Other duties as required or assigned

Education / Qualifications:                                                       

  • High school degree or GED preferred; not required
  • Valid Texas driver's license and good driving record is a must
  • Experience jump starting automobiles and parking industry experience preferred
  • Must be customer-service oriented, have a fan-friendly attitude, and a professional appearance at all times
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Golf cart certification and training

Physical Demands / Work Environments:

  • Must adhere to all company safety and building protocols
  • Requires ability to walk, stand, use hands to handle or feel, stoop, kneel, crawl or crouch and climb stairs
  • Ability to stand for 4-6 hours at a time
  • Ability to report to work early and stay until the end of all events scheduled
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Requires specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to lift and push up to 50 pounds, as needed
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate, however, the noise level may be loud
  • Requires working up to 4 hours before and during the event and 1-2 hours post event
  • Requires working in outdoor weather conditions and in heavy traffic on major streets
