Supply Planning Manager (12-month assignment)

Opportunity Overview

Dessert Holdings is looking for a Supply Planning Manager with supply chain planning and scheduling for a one-year assignment in our Kennesaw, Georgia facility.  This individual will build a Finished Goods Supply Plan to deliver a service level of 98.5%+ while keeping within working capital targets, and translate this supply plan into a finite weekly plant schedule over the agreed scheduling horizon, optimizing between service levels and plant efficiency. The Supply Planning Manager will also be responsible for reporting service levels and inventory and supply plan status at the weekly Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) reviews, actively participating in new product launch meetings, reporting production attainment on a daily and weekly basis, and testing and implementing improvements to the Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP system.

Responsibilities and Contributions:

  • Lead all aspects of finished goods requirements planning for the plant.  Long range planning and development of MPS down to weekly/daily production schedule.
  • Liaise with the procurement team to ensure supply plans and production schedules are material-validated and can be efficiently executed on the production floor. Make changes according to the agreed process to adjust to any identified material issues
  • Utilize Microsoft Dynamics 365 planning and scheduling functionality to build out long term supply plan and medium-term schedules. Adjust system inputs (e.g., safety stock levels, demand forecasts) to arrive at an optimized and executable supply plan.
  • Participate in implementation of new modules/functionality to improve the D365 system as a Key User, including extensive participation in User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Manage all aspects of KPI reporting (daily, weekly, period) including customer fill rate, forward inventory projections, at-risk inventory and plant attainment
  • Represent supply planning at monthly S&OP forecast reviews to call out anomalies and required changes to the demand forecast.
  • Manage intercompany requirements planning and cross business unit planning, working with supply chain team to ensure shipments to other business units are delivered on time
  • Identify and mitigate potential service level failures through inventory management, production adjustment, demand management and tactical maneuvering

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education – Bachelor's - Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance OR relevant certifications (APICS CPIM, CSCP, P. Log etc.)
  • Preference will be giving to candidates with relevant experience in food and beverage or consumer packaged goods industry
  • 4-6 years of progressive supply chain experience in SC planning or production scheduling in consumer goods or a similar fast-moving industry
  • Excellent knowledge of supply planning, inventory planning and production scheduling concepts 
  • Ability to generate and present various scenarios and tradeoffs to cross-functional teams and senior leadership
  • Able to work independently and assume ownership of supply planning and scheduling for the plant with limited supervision
  • Experienced using MS Word, Power Point and Outlook and BI database tools
  • Working knowledge of any major ERP systems and various planning modules (e.g., SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle etc.). Prior use of and knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 an asset.
