Recycle Coordinator

Position Summary: Coordinate the collection, separation and disbursement of all reusable materials utilized at Big Cedar Lodge and Top of the Rock. 

Essential Functions:

  • Work with each and every department in the promotion and follow through of the recycling efforts
  • Recognize and reward outstanding efforts by individuals as well as department associated with recycling
  • Develop and coordinate safe working practices in the handling of the refuse and recyclables
  • Help to ensure that nature related guest activities provide information that is consistent with resort recycling goals
  • Public speaking at our new associate orientations to inform new associates of recycling procedures and projects
  • When not actively involved with recycling, will work with the Landscaping team
  • Perform other duties as required

Candidate Profile:

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Or one to three months related experience or training
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Requirements:

  • Possess a valid Missouri “E” or Arkansas “P” driver’s license
  • Clean and safe driving record
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to speak Spanish strongly preferred

  • Language Skills:  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Mathematical Skills:  Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Reasoning Ability:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Other Skills and Abilities:  The ability to work well with a team, to prioritize, a sense of urgency and a real concern for customer service.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.  The employee will be exposed to poison ivy, oak and sumac on a regular basis, and must be able to work closely with these plants and possibly other toxic plant materials, as well as bees, wasps and yellow jackets.
