GIS Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY: Join our dynamic team as a GIS Analyst, where you'll engage in a range of moderate to complex geographic information system (GIS) tasks. This role involves performing analytical and geoprocessing functions such as data input, editing, manipulation, and analysis, along with creating and maintaining spatial/tabular data sets, and developing interactive mapping websites.

Your technical expertise will be crucial in developing interactive web maps with custom scripting and programming, conducting geoprocessing, model building and automation, and manipulating LiDAR and 3D feature data. You'll handle spatial data conversion and field data collection using GIS and survey-grade GPS, interpret legal descriptions, and use COGO and complex curves. Additionally, you'll apply high-level digital cartography skills to produce map layouts, reports, and spatial data applications for both public and private sectors, including all City Departments.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING

A high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) equivalency is required.
Graduation from an institution of higher learning accredited by the U.S. Department of Education through one of its regional accrediting agencies with a bachelor's degree in Cartography, GIS/Spatial Science, Geography, Planning, Computer Science, or related field is required. 
         o Six (6) years of directly related full-time employment or more working with GIS may be substituted as determined by the department Director.
Directly related full-time employment experience of two (2) years or more, working with GIS or creating and maintaining web-based applications is required.
At least one (1) year of experience using Python, HTML, or Java script is required. 
Additional licenses or certifications may be required for this position. 
 
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING
Experience with ArcGISPro Software is preferred.
GISP Certification is preferred.
 
MISCELLANEOUS REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must be highly engaged in the department's goals, and be able to work cooperatively with City of Branson leadership in achieving those goals.
Must demonstrate excellent customer service to the department's internal or external customers. 
Must possess strong analytical and logical problem solving skills, strong interpersonal communication and relational skills, good organizational project management skills, initiative, flexibility, and be detail-oriented.  
Must possess a high degree of integrity, strong work ethic and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 
Must possess a valid driver's license and must be insurable under the City of Branson's motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the position. 
Tattoos, Scarification, Body Art, and Body Modifications must meet City of Branson Employee Appearance at Work policy.
Must act safely and follow safety standards while at work. 
Must be able to pass a background investigation and drug and alcohol screenings.

WORK HOURS:        Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm 

WORK LOCATION:        City of Branson, Missouri; City Hall.  This is an in office position requiring work to be performed onsite.
