Job Title: Safety Supervisor - Dayton Terminal

Location: Dayton, OH

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Supervisor to join our team at the Dayton terminal. As a key member of our safety management team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with DOT and OSHA regulations, conducting on-site orientations, safety trainings, road tests for new drivers, and promoting a culture of safety within the terminal.

Job Duties:

• Manage DOT and OSHA safety and compliance for the Dayton terminal.
• Conduct on-site orientations, safety trainings, and road tests for new drivers.
• Work with Regional Safety manager to develop and implement safety training programs to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Inspect company equipment at the Dayton terminal.
• Assist in the investigation of motor vehicle accidents, injuries, incidents, and near-miss events.
• Remain on call to handle after-hours emergencies and investigate them properly.
• Monitor Samsara e-Log system for the Dayton terminal and work with the Compliance Department on log compliance, roadside inspections and other daily reports.
• Conduct regular walk-throughs of company shop, office, and grounds to identify and eliminate hazards.
• Create reports, memos, or programs using MS Word, Excel, or PowerPoint for trending, meetings, or training.
• Participate in company meetings and attend outside training sessions as assigned.

 

Requirements:

 College degree or equivalent experience in the trucking industry safety management field.

 Computer skills with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

 Ability to travel occasionally for training (less than 10% of time).

 Valid driver's license (CDL holder or past CDL experience a plus).
