Fine Home Construction Expert to Oversee Properties For a Private Family

Our client, headquartered in Chicago, IL, with residences in the Greater Phoenix area, other U.S. locations, and the Bahamas, has established a new role to assume 360-degree oversight for their residential property management. This position encompasses full responsibility for all residential construction projects, renovations, preventative maintenance, redecorating, and system upgrades.

 

The selected candidate will also be tasked with preparing and managing the annual capital and operating budgets for each property.

 

The client prefers that this person is based in Chicagoland or the Phoenix area and is willing to assist with relocation.

 

Candidates with significant experience in luxury commercial construction are also encouraged to apply.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all construction and renovation projects in the principal's residential portfolio.
  • Travel to and inspect homes when projects (floor care, touch up painting, new plumbing, etc.) are completed to ensure the work is completed to an elevated standard.
  • Manage routine and preventative maintenance at all properties.
  • Oversee semi-annual reset at each residence. This includes deep cleaning, touch-up painting, etc.
  • Develop and oversee annual capital and operating budgets for each property in the portfolio.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience managing day-to-day residential construction details and decisions in fine homes.
  • Knowledge of best industry practices and general compliance/permit requirements throughout the US.
  • A bachelor's degree or a strong background in the trades is preferred.
  • Possess at least ten plus years' relevant work experience in construction of residential luxury homes or boutique hotels.
  • Impeccable professional history with excellent verifiable references.
  • Solid executive skill set. Mature, positive, proactive, and persistent.
  • Superior process, project, analytical, communication, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrates poise and grace under pressure.
  • Ability to travel frequently between residences, and flexibility to work non-standard hours as needed.
  • Proactive and anticipatory, with a service heart. 
  • Tech savvy; easily grasps new programs and applications.
  • Experience with managing Op Ex and Cap Ex budgets.

 

Schedule:

Generally, Monday through Friday, business hours, flexibility is required for weekend and holiday work as needed.

 

Compensation:

Our client is prepared to pay $175,000-$225,000 base annual salary plus benefits.
