Quality Control Supervisor

 

The Role -

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a Quality Control Supervisor to work out of its state-of-the-art facility in Mesa, AZ.

The successful candidate will supervise the employees and workload for ou Final, Receiving and Gage Lab Inspection. Provide customer support. Report throughput and improve over-all departmental procedures in support of Inspection and critical customers.

The key responsibilities of the Quality Control Supervisor include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct Quality audits when appropriate and when assigned.
  • Lead process documentation and improvements in relation to inspection and Quality.
  • Maintain employee time keeping and vacation schedule and schedule overtime as required by workload.
  • Assigns work to hourly inspectors.
  • Provide guidance to inspectors on the interpretation of drawings and routines.
  • Work with Quality Engineering team regarding updates and new inspection routine releases to meet customer requirements.
  • Validate inspector rejections.
  • Learn all aspects of inspection work. Supervisor should understand how test equipment works and what drives the inspection requirements.
  • Ensure Inspected product and paperwork is complete and accurate.
  • Ensure delegated source at Amphenol is available per customer contracts, support and schedule training and certifications.
  • Oversees inspector training and annual Quality training as required by the Quality Management System.
  • Coordinates action items with quality engineers and process engineers, manufacturing, and all other required resources to satisfy customer needs.
  • Utilizes problem solving techniques and tools to assure full and final resolution of issue.
  • Lead and develop a team of inspectors; handle employee issues as they arise.

 

The key skills and qualities of a Quality Control Supervisor at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:

  • Knowledge of AS9100 Business Management System
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620, J-STD-001, AS9102 (FAI) standards, and auditor experience
  • Knowledge of blueprint reading and GD&T
  • Working knowledge of the Quality Manual, military specifications, ITAR, and the Quality system.
  • Previous experience leading a team is preferred.
