Qualifications:

Minimum of 20 year(s) of experience in High-level support to NRCS leadership positions, in sensitive managerial processes, general operational support, writing, business functions/liaison to FPAC Business Center, and project management. OR PhD Degree

Duties:

This position is part of the Director's Staff for NRCS in the Pacific Islands Area (PIA). The position's primary purpose is to provide high-level support to the Director, in sensitive managerial processes, general PIA operational support, writing, business functions/liaison to FPAC Business Center, and project management. This incumbent carries out responsibilities under the supervision of the PIA Director with close coordination and input from the assistant director for Mgmt & Strategy.

  • Provides operational support to the NRCS Director and serves as liaison to upper-level FPAC Business Center personnel on sensitive issues. When specifically tasked by the Director, serves as a resource to supervisors in the areas of supervision, human resources, employee relations, and performance management to help supervisors carry out actions to solve employee performance and conduct issues, training deficiencies, and other operational challenges.   20%
  • Assists the Director with project management, as requested/assigned. Coordinates milestones, accomplishments, and communication; tracks progress and reports status, delays, and issues to the Director and/or ADMS.   40%
  • Assists the Director in business writing and preparation of communications related to Director-level tasks, often for executive-level recipients, with a high-level focus on professionalism and confidentiality.   20%
  • Serves as liaison between M&S team and FPAC Business Center employees, on a multitude of general operational tasks/duties, as requested by ADMS. Fills in gaps from vacant M&S or Director personnel, in a variety of operational and business subject matters.   20%
