Senior Director, Event Marketing

Position Summary:

The Senior Director, Event Marketing leverages their extensive events experience to lead event marketing strategy to position TCB in the same class but different from the most premier business gatherings in the world including the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting, Sun Valley Conference, Jackson Hole Economic Symposium, and others.  This position is accountable for setting the audience strategy and goals, creating integrated, multi-channel marketing plans (advertising, public relations, digital, POS, SMS, etc.) to drive registrations, representing audience in planning discussions to ensure we attract and engage attendees properly, delivering required audiences to sponsors, and collaborating across TCB to recruit Members into TCB pipeline.  The Senior Director has deep expertise in attracting and delivering audiences at events and is experienced at managing a team of specialists skilled in email marketing, content marketing, copywriting, sales, partnerships and more.

Accountabilities:

  • Increase quantity and quality of audiences at all of TCB’s events
  • Define target audiences, frame of reference and point-of-difference for TCB’s portfolio of events and create and manage audience segmentation for the portfolio overall and for each event individually
  • Drive registrations and deliver audiences that grow the business, meet expectations of sponsors, support retention of the sponsor, and significantly build sponsorship every year
  • Create integrated marketing strategies that combine organizational goals, with event specific needs, to significantly increase event attendance, build compelling event brands, and gain high value audiences for TCB and sponsors
  • Develop creative marketing content to differentiate TCB both as an organization and as individual events from competitive brands and events, and drive prominence for events collectively and individually
  • Deliver attendance revenue goals by building paid ticketing models, and tactical plans designed to convert paid attendees
  • Build database of event prospects to support integrated marketing plans
  • Develop analytics tools to measure events marketing, data and metrics; analyze and communicate to leadership

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 15+ years of experience in event marketing with deep expertise in understanding specific audiences, behaviors, and trends
  • Extensive knowledge of: Direct outreach audience development, digital marketing, direct marketing, social paid marketing, content marketing, registration systems, audience engagement, and copywriting that converts
  • Strong strategic leader and manager who can build vision and execute accordingly
  • Clear and proactive communication style tailored to your audience, from clients to executives and written to verbal applications
  • Detail-oriented and organized with a strength in project and data management, analysis and reporting
  • Proficient with marketing and event management tools and systems, and/or comfortable learning new ones
  • Ability to travel 10%. Role requires NYC on-site attendance and some non-NY events
