Senior Project Manager

A private family based in Boston, MA is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee real estate and building projects at their residences and properties.

 

Three key areas include:

  • Act as an Owner's Representative experience ensuring principals' best interests are upheld. 
  • Act as project manager in the technical sense, managing budgets, timelines, contractors, and tasks.
  • Provide proper documentation for all capital improvements, being mindful of regulations and the backup materials required.

 

This role is based in the Boston, MA Family Office and will require travel to the properties to oversee and manage projects.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the liaison between the principals and design contractors, interior decorators, consultants, etc. Ensure the principals' visions and plans are kept central. Coordinate meetings and keep minutes
  • Create and manage detailed budgets. Reconcile invoices against quotes and contracts.
  • Engage with contractors and vendors for the best quality work and competitive pricing.
  • Create and manage detailed project schedules. Hold updates meetings with vendors and contractors.
  • Ensure highest levels of safety and security are upheld through the projects.
  • Manage junior team members as necessary.
  • Communicate with the principals' teams as needed to support the projects.
  • Provide a detailed weekly update to the Director of Project Management.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (Architecture, Engineering, Construction Project Management, or related field) strongly preferred.
  • 15+ years in a similar or related role.
  • Proven success managing high-end residential projects of various sizes and degrees of complexity.
  • Knowledge of home automation and technology systems is essential.
  • Experience and understanding of both cold and warm climate building techniques and technologies is required.
  • Experience with general landscaping, forestry, woodland, and fine gardening projects is also helpful.
  • MA Construction Supervisors License preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to lead a team and motivate them to the highest levels of service and quality.
  • Highly effective communication skills. Knows when to escalate project issues.
  • OSHA 30 certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Comfortable with MS Office Suite, Asana, AutoCAD, Sketch Up.
  • Knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies and tools – scheduling, etc.
  • Pivots well with shifting priorities.
  • Highly organized, attentive to details, self-motivated.
  • Driver's license, passport, and legal authorization required to work in the US.
  • Ability to work at heights on occasion and mobility and flexibility to lift and carry heavy objects.

 

Schedule:

Generally, Monday to Friday, business hours with flexibility to work extended hours and weekends as requested.

 

Compensation:

Base compensation of $170,000 - $190,000 offered, depending on experience.
