WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a member of the Custodial & Maintenance Team, the Facilities Janitor is responsible for keeping the facility clean, safe, and in good condition. Other expectations may include:

  • Cleaning: Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and polishing floors, furniture, and restrooms, other surfaces 
  • Sanitizing: Disinfecting surfaces, restrooms, and commonly used items 
  • Trash removal: Taking out the trash and recycling 
  • Maintenance: Performing minor repairs, such as replacing light bulbs or unclogging toilets 
  • Safety: Ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations, and notifying supervisors of unsafe conditions 
  • Inventory: Maintaining cleaning and maintenance supplies, and placing orders for new products 
  • Outdoor maintenance: Removing litter, snow, and debris from sidewalks and parking area
  • Window cleaning: Washing windows, glass partitions, and mirrors 
  • Carpet cleaning: Steam-cleaning or shampooing carpets 
  • Equipment operation: Operating floor scrubbers and other equipment 

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

  • Previous janitorial or custodial experience for a large facility such as a warehouse, school district, airport, shopping center, etc. is helpful but not required
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Clean driving record
  • Able to work as part of a team with a great attitude
  • High standards for following instructions, detailed work, and work quality
  • Able to stand for extended periods and move about the facility as needed
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Self-motivated, self-disciplined, and organized
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future
