Wind Project Manager

Summary 

The Project Manager is responsible for managing ATS projects and serve as a subject matter expert for successful project implementation and execution. This position will plan, organize, coordinate, and manage all aspects of project cargo delivery and serve as the primary point of contact for the customer. The Project Manager, serving as the project leader, will work cross-functionally with various internal and external departments/personnel to solve problems and keep the project on schedule and on budget. The purpose of the role is to ensure the required resources are deployed; including, safety, compliance, contract, and billing, requirements are being completed according to specification.  

 

Education and Experience 

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in business, accounting, or finance preferred, and/or equivalent work experience in related fields.   
  • Two years of transportation industry experience or project management experience preferred.  
  • Excellent computer (Word, Excel, and Outlook, etc.) and internet; LME experience preferred.  
  • Robust critical thinking and problem solving skills. 
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to prioritize projects and deadlines. 
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, listening) to train people and work cross-functionally with all management levels in a company both internally and externally. 
  • Ability to adapt to an ever-changing work environment; able to deal with frequent change, delays, and unexpected events.  
  • Exceptional mathematical skills to control profit/loss, monitor budgets, and pricing models. 
  • Ability to understand contract terms and conditions.  
  • Aptitude to analyze information; develops alternative solutions, and communicate results.  
  • Ability to work flexible shifts as needed to meet company deadlines, and travel to customer locations as needed. 
  • Willing and able to travel infrequently, including overnight travel. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Lead and facilitate conference calls, meetings, and delegate project tasks to achieve deadlines. 
  • Serve as complete project contact person for the customer, providing timely updates, processing changes, communicating changes, and handling any concerns or issues impacting the project.  
  • Monitor permit and escort costs, receivables, and contract terms for each stage of the project.  
  • Executing to project truck production plan and contractual obligations.  
  • Organize and schedule the pick-up and deliveries of cargo.  
  • Ensure routes are established and properly vetted. 
  • Coordinate third party project services to meet deadlines. 
  • Synchronize the work activities of the project assistant. 
  • Coordinate and organize how the cargo being transported is loaded, and secured.  
  • Ensure all pre-project technical requirements are achieved.  
  • Assist with accident investigations and complete a root cause analysis.  
  • Coordinate any miscellaneous or special customer requests to complete the project. 
  • Ensure project safety guidelines and protocols are being followed.  
  • Manage site supervisor duties and their project performance, coordinate with their primary internal contact as needed and approve weekly invoices. 
  • Attend seminars, trainings, and workshops to stay current on industry trends and changes.

  • Position will require work responsibilities outside of normal business hours, and infrequent travel may be required.

  • This position involves working in an office setting as well as occasionally at offsite locations, typically far from populated areas. 
  • Noise level is usually moderate to loud when at a site. 
  • Employee is required to walk on different types of terrain; soil, rocks, concrete, sand, etc. 
  • Exposure to temperature extremes due to working outside in various states and climates. 
  • Constantly in a stationary position and occasionally will move around. 
  • Constantly operates a keyboard and mouse and constantly utilizes a computer monitor(s). 
  • Constantly conversing with internal and external customers in person or via phone.
