Billing Specialist
Summary: Billing Specialists are responsible for keeping a record of all the physician invoices and ensuring that patients pay their accounts with the company.
Education: Associates Degree in medical billing.
Experience: Must have at least two years of experience in an office setting, preferably with responsibilities in a health care facility.
Essential Job Functions:
- Perform posting of incoming insurance and payments in a timely manner
- Assist with maintenance of all reimbursement to remain current
- Assist Billing Manager to keep account aging as current as possible
- Print insurance payment deposit slips to ensure finance receives the correct information regarding payments
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times; adheres to all HIPPA guidelines
- Communicate effectively by telephone and to the patient at his/her level of understanding
- Promote positive public relations with patients, visitors, families, physicians and others
- Exhibit characteristics consistent with CPC values for quality, respect, teamwork and pride
- Maintain physical appearance and conduct consistent with acceptable professional ethics and CPC standards
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by his/her supervisor

Equipment Operated: Will use basic office equipment such as a computer, printer, copier, and fax machine.
Work Environment: Well lit medical office environment
Mental/Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift at least 10 lbs.
Sitting 85% of the time
Standing/walking 15% of the time
