Network Engineer

Opportunity:

The responsibility of the Network Engineer is to implement and support the organization's enterprise network infrastructure. This role provides knowledge and expertise in the fields of enterprise network infrastructure technology, troubleshooting, problem resolution, and business continuity/disaster recovery. The Network Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing standard operating procedures (SOP's) for ATS's systems to minimize downtime and risk.

Scope of Opportunity:

  1. Leads, and executes network technology projects.
  2. Develop, maintain, and implement standard operating procedures (SOP's) and control processes for the Network capability and monitors to ensure compliance and consistency with the SOP's. 
  3. Performing all aspects of engineering, implementing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise-level systems and network infrastructure technologies in advanced data centers
  4. Demonstrate hands-on technical knowledge of enterprise networking technologies (including core switches, access switches, firewalls, edge and core routing, managed wireless, vLANs, DMZs, intrusion detection/prevention, evasion technologies, and network load balancing
  5. Conduct capacity planning and performance tuning of enterprise-level systems/network infrastructure.
  6. Collaborate with the Cybersecurity team to implement an enterprise security capability to protect against internal and external threats
  7. Report on key performance indicators to management.
  8. Collaborate with the application development teams on internal and external facing applications for a highly available and distributed environment
  9. Conduct in-depth research into issues and technologies as required, and able to document current/future states during upgrades or system implementations.
  10. Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding company and personnel information to maintain a professional work environment.

 Education and Experience

  1. 2-year degree in information technology, computer science, software development, or related field and 4+ years related field experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Minimum of 1 years' experience with Cisco networking or equivalent enterprise hardware (hardware, software, protocols, etc.) with emphasis on large-scale enterprise LAN network deployments and operations
  3. CCNA/CCNP or similar preferred but not required
  4. Experience in an enterprise environment supporting 100+ switches, routers, and wireless access points. Cisco 3700, 6500, 4500, ASR, FTD, WCS experience preferred.
  5. Ability to demonstrate in-depth support and engineering experience with LAN/WAN
  6. Ability to demonstrate familiarity with Network management systems, reporting, and capacity planning
  7. Working knowledge and hands-on experience with routing protocols; BGP, EIRGP, MPLS, OSPF, IGRP version 1 and version 2
  8. Experience with engineering and supporting networks using high-availability, disaster recovery
  9. Extensive experience with network troubleshooting, performance tuning, and crisis remediation
  10. Working knowledge of Telecom industry, ISP, copper vs fiber, and WAN connectivity
  11. Experienced with data and security engineering and governance. Hands-on experience applying inside the enterprise.
  12. Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment effectively.
