Level 2 $83,200-$110,000

Role Overview
A Cochran Technologies and Security Estimator performs plan and specification review, quantity take-off and estimating software data entry under the direction of a Senior Estimator or Chief Estimator.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The following are the duties associated with being a Cochran Electrical Estimator. Other duties may be assigned. Items 1 through 10 are duties associated with an Estimator Level 1.
- Specification and plan review.
- Accurate quantity take-off and entry into estimating software.
- Assist in creation of detailed estimates from conceptual design information.
- Creation of excel pricing worksheets and bills of materials.
- Creation of estimate scope and narrative.
- Assist with preparation and review of vendor bid packages.
- Participate in estimate review process.
- Conduct periodic site visits to confirm estimating approach is consistent with construction means and methods.
- Assists with department maintenance (Accubid Enterprise (Accubid Anywhere) database maintenance, updating vendor contacts, updating permit calculators, etc.)
- Is willing and able to become certified in applicable manufacturers.
To perform the job of Estimator Level 2 successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following additional duties in addition to all of the Project Engineer Level 1 and Level 2 requirements.
- Utilizes experience to evaluate manufacture specifications to align with customer needs and prices accordingly.
- Utilizes construction experience to evaluate and apply schedule related requirements.
To perform the job of Estimator Level 3 successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following additional duties in addition to all of the Project Engineer Level 1 and Level 2 requirements.
- Creates large multi-scope estimates autonomously.
- As an industry reference, they are willing and able to interview with directors and/or customers to clarify any estimating details.

Qualifications

Experience
Level 1: 3+ years of experience in the LV electrical or security construction industry. Understanding of LV electrical theory and installations or advanced computer skills.
Level 2/3. Addition of 06 or equivalent license and or certifications in Security related manufacturers or industry.
Construction Document Reading Ability
Ability to read plans and specifications.
Mathematical Abilities
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully an individual should have intermediate to expert knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Code Knowledge
Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes preferred.
