Accounts Receivable Specialist I

UB Greensfelder LLP has an opening for a full-time Accounts Receivable Specialist working in the St. Louis office. This position reports to the Firm’s Senior Accountant and will perform day to day financial transactions including recording and analyzing accounts receivable data in compliance with financial policies and procedures.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Record incoming payments including checks, wires, ACH, credit card, and lockbox activity. Follow up with all short pays, overpayments, and research of unidentified receipts. Make daily bank deposits.
  • Work with clients, collection manager, billing and legal assistants to resolve account discrepancies and insure proper payments.
  • Deposit and post trust transactions in accordance with Firm policies.
  • Assist billing with movement of unapplied/trust monies.
  • Fill petty cash requests and reconcile monthly.
  • Analyze unapplied and trust accounts for possible applications.

Qualified Applicants Will Have:

  • 2+ years’ accounts receivable experience in a professional services environment.
  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance or Business preferred, with a solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Excellent data entry skills, high degree of accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including entering and manipulating excel spreadsheets required.
  • Analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
