PTW is hiring a Structural Steel Estimator to join our team on site in our Calgary facility. If you have previous estimating experience and a background in steel or fabrication, we want to hear from you!

A DAY IN THE LIFE...
- Prepares structural steel estimates and quantity take-offs from client and inhouse designs.
- Prepares quotation letters.
- Communicates and coordinates with sub-trades, and with internal departments including project management, purchasing, engineering, drafting, and manufacturing, to ensure that projects are accurately estimated.
- Ensures that estimating-related correspondence and procedures are completed according to established guidelines.
- Reviews client provided drawings and specifications for incorporation into the estimate.
- Reviews the RFP/RFQ/RFI for proposal production and documentation guidelines.
- Attends virtual and in person client meetings when required.
- Complies with standards and procedures of PTW's health and safety manual and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years experience in structural estimating
- Experience in structural fabrication or project management is an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications quickly and accurately.
- Strong working knowledge of structural codes and specifications.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office, including Outlook, Excel, Teams, and Word.
- Exceptional time management skills; ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks quickly.
- Adaptable with dynamic workloads and changing priorities.
- Thrives well in a busy, deadline oriented work environment.
- Must be able to take initiative, work independently as well as in a team.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be authorized to work in Canada.
- A valid Class 5 driver's license is required, as facility is not accessible by public transportation.
