Receiver - Steel Fabrication Shop

The Opportunity:

PTW is looking for a Receiver to work in our busy structural steel fabrication shop in Calgary! Full-time permanent work, with lots of opportunities for overtime. If you're an early-riser and have experience as a receiver/shipper or material handler, we want to hear from you!

 A Day in the Life... 

• Inspects incoming shipments to ensure accuracy; inspects for damaged goods. Unloads and receives parts, finished goods and returned goods.
• Coordinates carrier pick-up; prepares packing slips, bills of lading and shipping labels.
• Performs cycle counts and physical inventory counts.
• Maintains forklift and other material handling devices in a safe and efficient manner.
• Maintains files of receiving documents, material return slips and any WHMIS documents related to products or materials processed through the receiving area
• Reports all non-conforming material to the department Supervisor.

Requirements:

• Must possess a minimum of one year of relevant work experience in a similar role.
• Willing to work overtime as required 
• Experience with using and driving a forklift an asset 
• Experienced with proper rigging and overhead crane use an asset
• Must be reliable and dependable (i.e.: punctual and ready to work).
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must be able to take initiative, work independently as well as in a team. 

Other Requirements:

• Must have CSA approved safety boots.
• Forklift and Overhead Crane certification is an asset
• WHMIS certification an asset
• Must be able to manually lift up to 50lbs
• Must have own transportation as location is not accessible with public transportation.
