Director of Properties
A prominent Boston-based client is seeking an experienced Director of Properties (DoP) to oversee and manage a diverse portfolio of residential properties. This dynamic role involves leading a team of Property and Estate Managers, driving operational efficiency, and ensuring the highest quality of service delivery. The Director of Properties will collaborate with property teams, communicate directly with principals, and work closely with senior leadership to align property operations with the organization's strategic goals.
This position requires some travel across New England and Southern Florida. Candidates with prior private service experience are strongly preferred, and familiarity with Asana is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the Estate and Property Management Team
- Manage and prioritize daily and ongoing work orders and projects using Asana
- Conduct regular property inspections and manage preventative maintenance schedules
- Oversee property management scheduling and resource allocation
- Manage the property inspection process and coordinate project decommissioning
- Maintain and enhance property databases, maintenance files, team data, and SOPs
- Oversee vendor relationships and ensure optimal performance
- Prepare, update, and distribute monthly property management reports
- Act as a liaison for all utilities and home services
- Develop and implement emergency response plans for all properties
- Participate in and prepare for monthly cross-functional team meetings
- Lead special projects to enhance team efficiency, software usage, and performance
- Provide ongoing feedback, training, and coaching to team members
Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant experience in property and estate management or a similar role
- Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred
- Proven leadership abilities and experience as a trusted business partner
- Exceptional discretion with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Strong problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, OneDrive, and SharePoint
- Familiarity with Asana or similar project management tools is a plus
- Experience with design and construction processes and documentation
- Outstanding time management, organizational, and communication skills
- Positive, proactive, and self-directed work style with adaptability to changing needs
- Knowledge of emergency response planning and crisis management for residential properties
- Must possess a valid driver's license and be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Schedule:
Generally, Monday to Friday, business hours with flexibility to work extended hours and weekends as requested.
Compensation:
Base compensation of $190,000 - $220,000 offered, depending on experience.
