The Agricultural Conservation Experienced Services (ACES) Program offers unique opportunities in Scientific, Technical, and Agricultural support for individuals aged 55 and over to support the Department of Agriculture?s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) through a grant administered program awarded to National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions). This is a unique program where your talents, expertise, and experience will truly be valued. The ACES program provides an opportunity to work side-by-side with NRCS staff that are doing important work every day. Qualifications:

Minimum of 15 year(s) of experience in areas related to the duties and responsibilities of the position. OR BA/BS Degree in general

  • Valid State Driver?s license;
  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel

Duties:

Provides USDA Farm Bill programmatic assistance to the State Conservationist, Assistant State conservationist- Programs, Assistant State Conservationist - Management and Strategy, State Resource Conservationist, State Engineer, State Office, Area and Field offices related to the administration and implementation of Farm Bill programs for Minnesota.

  • Provides technical and program support for the implementation of Easement programs in Minnesota. Duties include landowner and program support including but not limited to site visits and assessments, development of conservation and management plans, assisting with application processing, landowner contact and follow-up, and conservation planning assistance. Also includes the use of NRCS business tools associated with farm bill delivery, including but not limited to Conservation Desktop, Protracts, and the National Easement Staging Tool (NEST).   35%
  • Assists in the monitoring of Easement Programs in accordance with appropriate rules, policy, and guidance. Maintains tracking and controls of programmatic records, management, and organization of information. Tracks incoming data and maintains and uploads new documents to the appropriate systems. Provides technical and programmatic support for maintaining up to data landowner information, including reading and verifying deeds, legal land descriptions, and parcel information.   35%
  • Prepares letters, reports, and email communications. Files and organizes information. Prepares documents, uploads and retrieves information from SharePoint, and enters information into Excel spreadsheets and relational databases. Other duties as assigned.   10%
  • Assist with the administration of contract agreements. Communicate with program managers and program recipients to collect documentation, submit reports, and payments.   10%
  • Assists local NRCS offices with additional Farm Bill Programs as needed, including but not limted to CSP, EQIP, CRP, etc. Other duties as assigned.   10%
