Engineering Intern - Research & Development

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As part of the Flight Test/Research & Development Department, the R&D Intern will participate as a valuable member of Epic Aircraft's Engineering team. This is a paid summer internship available to students currently enrolled in an Engineering program. The intern will gain real-world experience doing a variety of tasks related to Epic E1000 GX Aircraft. Other tasks may include:

• Participate as a multidisciplinary Engineering team member
• Assist Engineers and other team members with the design, development, and testing of aircraft parts, materials, and components
• Assist with writing reports documenting activities and analyses
• Assist in the test analysis and other test-related tasks, including test set-up and coordination

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

• Junior or Senior Level College Student working towards a bachelor's or master's degree in an Engineering Specialty of Aerospace, Flight Test, Electrical, Mechanical, R&D, or closely related discipline
• Aviation experience is preferred
• Composite material experience desired
• Flight Test experience desired
• Pilots License is helpful but not required
• Laboratory testing experience desired
• Ability to follow prescribed processes, specifications, and guidelines
• Work well independently and in a team with a positive attitude & professional presence
• Knowledge of computer-aided design and basic engineering analysis tools
• Strong mechanical design aptitude and capability
• Fundamental understanding of basic engineering principles, including fluid mechanics, material strength, and stress analysis
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, high level of accuracy, and attention to detail
• Reliable and dependable with an excellent attendance and punctuality record
• Must be Authorized to work in the U.S. for Any Employer without Sponsorship now or in the future
