Project Management & Project Control Specialist
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Management & Project Control Specialist to support project planning, scheduling, cost analysis, and reporting efforts. This role is critical in providing administrative and analytical support to project managers and PMO teams while ensuring the successful execution of programs and projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Administration & Support
- Provide administrative and coordination support to project managers and teams.
- Assist in the development and implementation of project control policies and procedures.
- Research, analyze, and prepare reports for management.
Project Planning & Controls
- Support and lead project controls efforts for scheduling, cost analysis, monitoring, and reporting.
- Develop specialized work breakdown structures (WBS) for complex projects.
- Create and manage project schedules, tasks, resources, and costs using Microsoft Project or similar tools.
- Collect and analyze data, providing strategic recommendations for project improvement.
Budgeting & Financial Management
- Prepare expenditure forecasts and project budgets to ensure cost-effective project execution.
- Track project financials and assist with cost monitoring and variance analysis.
Reporting & Stakeholder Communication
- Prepare and coordinate presentations, reports, and project-related recommendations.
- Provide guidance and specialized assistance to project managers for complex project control issues.
- Support the preparation of public sector solicitation documentation in compliance with Metropolitan procedures.
Other Project Management Duties
- Assist in process improvements for project management methodologies and best practices.
- Ensure projects comply with organizational policies, regulations, and reporting standards.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in project management and project controls.
Proficiency in project scheduling and tracking tools (Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar).
Strong understanding of cost analysis, budgeting, and financial forecasting.
Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and data analysis tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
? Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification.
? Experience working in public sector, construction, infrastructure, or water-related projects.
? Knowledge of contract administration and solicitation processes.
