B. QUALIFICATIONS

User must possess Technical Management, Technical Understanding, Analyzing Information, Informing Others, Staffing, Problem Solving, Developing Budgets, Coordination, Strategic Planning, Quality Management.

 

Training and experience leading to competencies needed to independently provide technical support to computer users in an assigned office area. This includes comprehensive knowledge of both personal computer (PC) and Local Wireless Area Networks (W/LAN), and Sever administration; hardware and software; CCTV installation and configuration, Management of VPN's Promoting Process Improvements, Data Maintenance and Integrity.

 

Additionally, skills in oral communication, and decision making; highly developed competencies in customer service and interpersonal skills. This also includes the ability to install and provide support for PC and LAN hardware and software: database management software and possession of a strong desire to lean and be flexible with regard to new technology and methodology.

H.ASSIGNED DUTIES

 

DESCRIPTION OF WORK DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: (Type in or attach current description of duties.  Employees are expected to perform their work in a competent and efficient manner. Include % of time)

 

 

Duties include, but are not limited to:

                             

  1. Participates in the management, security, and, support of networks (40%):
    1. Recommends standards, specifications and methodologies for the network operation of the assigned Division/Office.

b.   Perform or participate in the implementation of project plans and schedules

c.    Communicates regularly with project leader on progress toward defined goals and/or required results. Provides specific feedback and initiates corrective actions when defined goals and/or results are not being met.

d.   Recommends network solutions which enhance operational efficiency and meet the needs of agencies mission and values.

 

  1. Installs and support Personal computers, Servers, and Networking Peripherals (10%):
    1. Installs network operating systems according to project plan

b.   Install network hardware and software

c.   Installs and support LANs, WANs, network segmentations, Internet, and Intranet systems.

  1. Builds and maintains shared network resources such as network drives and printers.
  2. Add and delete users from Active Directory, electronic mailboxes, support site, EMR, shared resources and other related applications as needed.
  3. Coordinate backups in accordance to Disaster Recovery Plan. Perform recoveries as necessary
  4. Performs troubleshooting on network peripheral, servers, and endpoints.

 

  1. Maintain a consistent high level of quality in regards to day-to-day operations of Information Technology Department (15%)
    1. Accomplishes information technology staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.

b.   Maintains organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.

c.   Directs technological research by studying organization goals, strategies, practices, and user projects.

  1. Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
  2. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

 

 

  1. Support in managing business operations of IT Department (25%):
    1. Discusses support requirements and submit appropriate recommendations
    2. Meets financial requirements by submitting information for budgets; monitoring expenses.

c.   Participates in meetings with development teams, vendors and/ or management to exchange relevant information in efforts to support and upgrade assigned systems

  1. Assists in preparing long range plans reference to system development life cycle.
  2. Develops goals and objectives which best meets needs relevant to agencies mission statement.

 

  1. Prov ides on-going/on-call operational and end-user assistance (10%):
    1. Analyzes and resolved problems on a local level in an accurate and timely manner.
    2. Answers calls from local administrators and/ or users in a timely, efficient, and professional manner
    3. Document problems and resolutions within agency support system
