Associate Licensed/Licensed Social Worker 2 - Co-Responder

Georgia Pines Community Service Board is excited to offer a unique opportunity to join our innovative, community-based behavioral health and intellectual/developmental disabilities services team in South Georgia. As a public, not-for-profit organization with a $25M annual budget and a dedicated workforce of over 300 professionals, we serve six rural counties through multiple service locations. We are currently seeking an Associate/Licensed Therapist to serve as a School Co-Responder—a dynamic, field-based role designed to support students experiencing behavioral health crises within school environments.


Position Overview:

The School Co-Responder works in close collaboration with school personnel and local law enforcement to respond to behavioral health emergencies involving students. This non-traditional role is focused on on-site crisis interventionde-escalation, and connection to ongoing care. The therapist will conduct brief mental health assessments, risk evaluations, and provide follow-up support to ensure continuity of care and reduce unnecessary disciplinary actions or emergency room visits.

This position is ideal for a clinician who is passionate about early intervention, youth mental health, and working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Schedule:

    • Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to behavioral health crises in school settings alongside school staff and/or law enforcement
  • Conduct on-site mental health assessments and risk evaluations
  • Provide crisis de-escalation and short-term intervention
  • Coordinate follow-up care and referrals to community-based services
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation
  • Collaborate with school counselors, administrators, and families to support student well-being

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in a related area from an accredited college or university AND has an Associates\'s license as a LMSW, LAPC, of LAMFT OR fully licensed as a LCSW, LPC, or LMFT AND Two years of supervised experience in the area of assignment.
