Position Summary:
A lovely family in Cincinnati, OH would like to hire an experienced and compassionate Lead Caregiver for their adult daughter with a developmental disability. She is non-verbal, ambulatory for short distances, and requires hands-on care delivered with warmth, dignity, and structure. This role is ideal for someone patient, upbeat, responsible, and enthusiastic about providing a high quality of life through outings and daily enrichment.
The right candidate is based in Cincinnati, flexible to travel to Naples, FL and eager to be a reliable, long-term partner to the family.
This person must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English and will enjoy working closely with the family.
Responsibilities:
- Work in partnership with the parents to care for their adult daughter
- Actively communicate with the parents and their daughter.
- Drive the daughter to her day program 3 days per week and other activities or appointments.
- Offer daily enrichment activities based on a preference list.
- Help with daily feeding (feeding tube), meal preparation, toileting, bathing, laundry.
- Able to travel with the family between Cincinnati and Naples, FL
Qualifications:
- A college education is preferred. A background in Nursing, CNA, OT, Rehabilitation, or Special Education is helpful but not required.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience caring for individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Natural love of and enthusiasm for working with people with disabilities.
- Exceptional references.
- Upbeat, positive, and pleasant personality.
- Kind, warm, patient, responsible.
- You enjoy offering daily enrichment activities.
- You do the right thing when no one is watching.
- A team player, hardworking, and detail oriented.
- A flexible attitude and be able to accommodate changes in a household routine.
- Competent and comfortable swimmer capable of supervising others in a pool
- Driver's license and experience driving children or adults in your care.
- Willing to accept instruction and follow through on parents' preferences.
Schedule:
- Generally, Mon/Tue/Wed - 7:30 am to 5:30 pm , and Thu/Fri 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. with the flexibility to work an occasional overnight.
- Able to travel to Naples, FL (private off-site accommodation provided)
- Currently 2 weeks in Nov, 2 weeks in Dec, and Jan-Feb or Mar (This will be a great fit if you want to escape the coldest months in Cincinnati!)
Compensation
A salary range of $80,000-$125,000 offered, depending on experience, with an excellent benefits package.
