As a Mechanical Engineer you will provide the lead in supporting the development of new products through simulation, testing and analysis of data and designs. Support the development of new HSIO product portfolio and corresponding processes via mechanical simulation, testing and qualification.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform engineering tasks across multiple disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, materials, systems, and testing.

• Support product design through mechanical analysis, including tolerance analysis, finite element analysis (FEA), materials analysis, failure analysis, and test plan development.

• Lead component-level reliability planning, testing, and analysis (CRAM).

• Manage system-level reliability planning, testing, and analysis (ERAM).

• Conduct Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA).

• Perform Failure Analysis and Root Cause investigation.

• Develop test sequences, procedures, and DOE plans to assess the long-term reliability of electrical connectors, considering customer use and application requirements.

• Analyze and process testing results, generating reports and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders.

• Present simulation and test results to internal and external customers.

• Prepare test samples, create test requests, design and fabricate test fixtures, and collaborate with test lab technicians.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in various test equipment.

• Collaborate with internal teams, external suppliers, and manufacturing personnel to support the development and validation of product prototypes and pilot production, while also interfacing with beta-site customers.

Qualifications:

• University degree in Mechanical/Materials Engineering with 2-5 years of experience or equivalent

• Experience with solid modeling tools - Pro/E and/or SolidWorks,

• Experience with Finite Element Analysis, Tolerance Stack-up, and related Tools.

• Experience with data analysis software, MS Excel, Minitab would be a plus.

• Experience developing test plans for mechanical and environmental stresses of I/O connectors, ESD testing would be a plus.

• Ability to work in team environment and communicate with technical & non-technical stakeholders.

• Desire to create and design new products and processes.

• Understand customer, industry standard and internal Quality Test Plan requirements.

• Knowledge of copper alloys and high-performance engineering thermoplastics would be a plus.

• Understanding of electrical connectors and with quality concepts and testing methods to ensure product integrity.
