VP of Administration

DENSO TEN is seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Administration to lead and oversee our core administrative functions: Human Resources (HR), General Affairs (GA), Legal, Compliance, and Information Technology (IT). This executive role is critical in ensuring our administrative functions effectively support the company's strategic direction, culture, and operational excellence.

This is a high-impact leadership position, responsible for driving company-wide initiatives in organizational development, culture transformation, workforce engagement, risk management, and digital innovation. The ideal candidate will bring strategic vision, operational acumen, and a collaborative mindset to foster a high-performing, values-driven organization. 

 

This position can be located in the Detroit Metro (Michigan), Plano (Texas), or McAllen (Texas) area.   This position will be required to relocate to Texas in approximately 1 year.  

 

POSITION SUMMARY/PURPOSE

 The Vice President of Administration is responsible for the strategic leadership and operational oversight of Human Resources (HR), General Affairs (GA), Compliance, Legal, and Information Technology (IT) functions across the organization. This role ensures these departments effectively support the company's overall goals, values, and mid-term strategic plans. The VP is accountable for initiatives that enhance workforce performance, culture, engagement, and compliance.

KEY JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership and Functional Oversite

  • Establish the company's direction in the areas of HR IT, Compliance and Legal strategy, structure, and functional systems supporting the philosophy, mission, goals and direction as set forth by the President.
  • Lead initiatives in culture transformation, organizational change, performance management, and workforce engagement.
  • Serve as strategic advisor to executive leadership regarding all administrative functions.
  • Budgetary planning and responsibility for the resources and costs for Administration functions

Human Resources

  • Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the company's mission, vision, and business goals including compensation, benefits, talent development, succession planning, and HR communications.
  • Design and implement organization development tools and systems.  This includes leading and/or coordination of organizational development activities such as but not limited to; realignment of structure to business needs, changes to increase efficiencies and maintenance of appropriate ratios of management to staff.
  • Ensure HR policies and practices are legally compliant and aligned with best practices.
  • Develop HR analytics and data-driven insights to drive decision-making and measure HR program effectiveness.
  • From a Corporate Human Resources perspective, consults with Company leaders to drive the development and implementation of teamwork, culture transformation, workforce engagement, organizational change, succession planning, performance management and leadership development.

General Affairs, Safety, and Risk

  • Oversee corporate facilities and environmental management systems, including ISO14001 compliance.
  • Lead corporate safety initiatives and compliance through a formal safety committee structure.
  • Administer companywide risk management programs in partnership with Shared Service including all property/casualty, workers compensation, cargo, auto, and Directors liability coverage.

Legal & Compliance

  • Consults/coordinates with legal counsel on all legal matters affecting the organization including law suits, liabilities, contract matters and governance issues.  
  • Oversees the development and oversite of a compliance committee/program and risk management function including applicable policies, procedures and supporting documentation processes.
  • Responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership of compliance and ethics, regulatory compliance, customs/trade compliance and privacy.

Information Technology

  • Develops information technology strategy and annual objectives to support the organization needs for data, information and communications in support of business operations.
  • Development and oversite of IT Security Committee to facilitate implementation and compliance to all applicable Security standards, regulations and corporate initiatives.
  • Oversight and accountability for the reliability, performance and security of all IT systems, information and compliance.
  • Responsibilities include driving critical change management activity at the intersection of IT and business.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

  • Directly supervises Senior Managers and administrative staff across assigned functional areas.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, with at least 5 years in an executive HR role with a strong focus on Organizational Development
  • In depth knowledge and experience in Human Resources developing and implementing enterprise-wide cultural transformation and HR systems / process improvements.
  • Proven track record of leading Company transformations and driving business outcomes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience in talent management, workforce planning, and employee engagement strategies.
  • Experience in developing / implementing corporate strategy, benchmarking and best practices. 
  • Strong knowledge  in all HR employment laws, compliance standards, technology. and project management.
  • Familiarity with Compliance Systems, Risk Management Programs IT Systems/Security desirable.    

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS- PREFERRED

  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) is highly desirable.
  • Experience in Automotive industry
  • Expertise in digital transformation and  technology solutions (with a preference in AI technology).

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software, navigate basic functions in Share Point and Human Resource systems.  Ability to Navigate AI apps is a plus.
