How You’ll Help Us Connect the World:

As a Supplier Quality Engineer-II, you will be responsible for supplier quality management as part of the Global Supplier Quality Department for EMEA region. You will work closely with Operations, Operations Quality, Engineering and Procurement Team members to ensure good and consistence Supplier performance, and development of new Suppliers, parts as part of  PDP & PTP projects, done successfully.  This role will be based in Agrate, Italy.

You Will Make an Impact By:

  1. Attend issues in operations due to Material Quality, and analyze them with CFT – Operations, Quality, Process, Engineering etc.
  2. Solve material quality issues timely and work with Supplier on Sustainable improvements to eliminate / reduce occurrence and improve detection, through 8D methodology, and revision in Control Plan, PFMEA, Work Instructions, Inspection Plans, Check sheets and other Control Methods.
  3. Audit Supplier for their System, Process and Product. Drive Action closure for audit Non Conformances/ Observations and ensure effectiveness of audit through improved supplier performance.
  4. Work with Procurement on New Part development, New Supplier Development to ensure First Time Right Development through APQP approach and PPAP documentation with PSW sign off, encompassing all requirements of minimum Level 3 PPAP.
  5. Responsible for First Article Inspection is done Right at First Time at Supplier end, and in Andrew Incoming Quality Control Lab, must be able to identify right inspection methods required for all dimensions including GD&T. Must be able to understand and comprehend CMM inspection methods and its reports.
  6. Must be able to engage with Cross Functional Team, and Execute tasks to drive results and improvement. Would be able to understand Stake holder issues, and take necessary decision on Improvement, complying to Andrew Processes and Procedures.
  7. Must be able to drive and review Design for Manufacturing for new parts done by Supplier, and Part Inspection Standard that will contain all the mandatory parameters of a part that Supplier will ensure compliance in terms of Fit, Finish, Function, Traceability and Packaging of the part.
  8. Work with Engineering Team to drive drawing changes proposed by Supplier in terms of Manufacturing Feasibility, Inspection Feasibility, reduce redundancy, and meet requirements related to Fit, Finish, Function, Traceability and Packaging.
  9. Must be able to execute Run at Rate and Safe Launch Plan for New Parts from Suppliers, after PPAP sign off, to ensure No Infancy Failures in first 90 days of production. Conduct SPC studies with Pp-Ppk and Cp-Cpk analysis, Control Charts, and other statistical tools. Conduct MSA studies at Supplier place, and ensure compliance to GRR%.
  10. Shall be Competent in working on SAP to check records, monitor performance and Analytics derived from SAP data. Must have knowledge on Analytics Tools such as Power BI dash board and BO reports.
  11. Execute Quality Improvement Projects to reduce Material Quality issues in Andrew, Supplier’s internal rejection reduction, PPM reduction, Cost of Poor Quality reduction, Six Sigma DMAIC Projects, Lean Projects.
  12. Identify Cost improvement projects through VAVE in terms of Raw Material Optimization, Process Optimization, Design Simplification and Packaging Optimization. Execute them through Supplier and CFT.
  13. Review Supplier Performance through Z2 reports (Material Quality Defects reported in Andrew), PPM reports, work with CFT such as Planners, Procurement to understand Supplier Delivery concerns related to Quality issues. Prepare Supplier Health Card and report to Andrew Management for reviews.
  14. Lead and encourage suppliers to identify and execute Kaizens to improve their process as part of Continuous Improvement.

Required Qualifications for Consideration:

  1. Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or a related field with 8 years’+ experience in relevant domain.
  2. Strong knowledge of quality management, familiarity with ISO9000/TL9000/IATF16949 Quality Systems
  3. Include demonstrated competencies and physical, mental, & interpersonal skills.
  4. Good command of written and spoken English.
  5. Skilled knowledge of basic and advanced Quality tools, such as Six Sigma, SPC, FMEA, DOE, Control Plans, Root Cause Analysis(8D), Poke Yoke(Error proof), and 7 QC tools etc.
  6. Proficient in System and Process Audits.
  7. Must be knowledgeable in GD&T, inspection methods – 1st Principle inspection methods, CMM and VMM, roundness tester, Scanners, Profile Projectors.
  8. Familiar with a wide range of reliability, environmental, and qualification programs.
  9. Assertiveness and excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  10. Excellent decision-making and interpersonal skills are essential.
  11. Must have worked in APQP approach and PPAP
  12. Sheet metal stamping, Welding, Galvanization, Powder Coating, Surtec Plating, Silver Plating, Die Casting, CNC Turning and Milling, Electrical Components, Engineered Products, Cables (Copper and Power) and RF products working experience is strongly desirous 
  13. Frequent travel both domestic and International.
