NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS). These experienced professionals provide administrative, scientific, technical, and operational support to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service through the Experienced Services Program (ESP).

Positions listed here do not guarantee employment for any definite period. Enrollment in the Experienced Worker Programs administered by NEW Solutions is temporary. The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is an ?at-will? relationship. This means that an Enrollee is free to terminate enrollment at any time during the enrollment period, and NEW Solutions and the Agency have the right to terminate the relationship with the Enrollee.

PLEASE NOTE: An ?Enrollee? is not a federal employee, nor an employee of NEW Solutions. An ?Enrollee? is a participant in a grant program established through a Cooperative Agreement funded by the agency and administered by NEW Solutions.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 10 year(s) of experience in environmental compliance or environmental clean-up OR BA/BS Degree in Environmental Studies

  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
Duties:

Provide project management support for the Infrastructure Management Division of the National Wildlife Refuge System.

  • Work with regional, station, and headquarters staff to managing projects to mitigate physical safety hazards and remediate environmental contamination from abandoned mine sites located on national wildlife refuges.   40%
  • Lead process for restructuring, consolidating and updating Service Manual chapters applicable to infrastructure management in Sections 360 and 370 of the Service Manual, incorporating changes to reflect the re-organization of IMD and significant developments.   40%
  • Other non-inherently federal tasks for project support as needed for the Infrastructure Management Division.   20%
