Afternoon/Evening Nanny – Upper East Side, NYC
Part-Time | Monday–Friday, 3:00–8:00/9:00 PM or Monday–Thursday + Saturday evening; or accommodations for evening classes.

Are you a kind, conscientious, and proactive caregiver who thrives in a fast-paced, family-focused environment? A warm and dynamic executive family on the Upper East Side of Manhattan is seeking an Afternoon/Evening Nanny to support the daily logistics and enrichment of their three school-age children.

Responsibilities:

Childcare

  • Coordinate daily afternoon/evening childcare logistics with the parents and team.
  • Pick up children from school and accompany them to sports, appointments, events, and playdates.
  • Prepare children for activities with items needed (snacks, water, uniforms, equipment).
  • Encourage strong homework habits and time management skills.
  • Plan and support age-appropriate, enriching indoor and outdoor activities.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, household staff, teachers, and coaches.
  • Monitor and support responsible technology use.
  • Travel with children or family occasionally if your schedule allows.

Household Support

  • Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of children's living areas, backpacks, and supplies.
  • Coordinate with the chef or prepare healthy meals/snacks for the children.
  • Tidy up kitchen and living spaces after meals or activities.
  • Run errands such as grocery shopping or pickups as needed.
  • Use the shared family calendar to track activities and schedules.
  • Willingly pitch in wherever needed to keep the home running smoothly.

Ideal Candidate

  • Prior experience as a nanny or family assistant for school-age children, with excellent references.
  • Kind, warm, and fun personality that appeals to children.
  • Strong communicator, both verbally and via text/email.
  • Highly organized with strong multitasking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Tech-savvy and confident managing digital calendars and apps.
  • Comfortable receiving feedback and aligning with family routines and values.
  • Flexible and dependable; able to adapt as schedules shift.
  • Holds a valid U.S. work authorization.
  • Undergraduate degree preferred (completed or in progress).
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to drive is a plus.

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–8:00 or 9:00 PM OR Monday–Thursday + Saturday evening; or accommodations for evening classes.
  • Extra hours in the summer or occasional travel availability is a plus.

Compensation

  • Competitive hourly wage, commensurate with experience ($30–$40 per hour)
