A natural gas crew apprentice is the first step in your new career! In your new role, you will be provided the training necessary to ensure the safety of yourself your peers, and the community. Your crew will be led by a seasoned Foreman, and alongside your peers (Equipment Operators, Driller, Welders, and Pipefitters), you will have the opportunity to learn the trade while receiving the on-the-job training needed to succeed in the industry. Your responsibilities will include general labor work, excavating and trenching, while working around heavy equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare construction sites as directed from the Foreman/Superintendent on the job.
- Follow and adhere to all safety standards when using equipment, driving company vehicles, and working on the site.
- Use hand tools to dig around existing utility structures to prevent damage!
- Load and unload materials and equipment at worksite, and company yard.
- Keep worksite clean, organized and free from unnecessary hazards.
- Perform regular maintenance and cleanup of assigned vehicles and all equipment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens.
- Satisfactory result of pre-employment background screening if applicable.
- Provide valid US work authorization documents for E-Verify.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record is preferred.
- Traveling out of town to work on remote job sites when needed or directed by manager.
Environment:
- Sites are outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions.
- Work will include prolonged and repeated: lifting, standing, climbing, kneeling, reaching, feeling, crouching, and crawling.
- Working safely requires quick/accurate hands-eye coordination and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
