Duties:Facilities Maintenance: Performs minor and routine maintenance tasks, custodial duties, grounds keeping, shipping, and receiving.
The enrollee shall not sign federal documents, authorize the use of federal funds, nor initiate or
conduct federally funded research projects. The enrollee shall not author articles for publication
as a federal employee, nor coordinate scientific research between the Government and private
industry. The enrollee shall not present themselves as a Government employee or Government
representative at meetings both foreign and domestic or when coordinating federal agencies?
areas of research. The enrollee shall not make decisions on federally-based research on behalf of
Government policy makers, and the enrollee shall not supervise any Government employees. - Custodial and Janitorial: Sweeps and mops floors and waxes floors using large industrial power equipment; vacuums carpeted areas; dusts furniture and fixtures in administrative areas; cleans glass doors and windows; empties waste and recycling receptacles; disposes of trash in dumpsters and sorts recyclable materials into proper bins (e.g., glass; newspaper; cardboard; etc.); cleans and sanitizes restrooms, breakroom, and kitchenette). 40%
- Grounds-keeping: Work is performed on graded and sloped areas. Performs limited driveway, roadway, and sidewalk maintenance work. Uses concrete, gravel, and/or asphalt to fill and level holes in damaged driveways, roadways and sidewalks. Breaks up pavement using jackhammers and clears sidewalks using large, industrial-type, powered snow blowers.

- Shipping and Receiving: Assists with receiving large materials, boxes and packages delivered to the location; uses dollies and pallet jacks to move heavy loads (80 lbs. or more) and/or to transport materials to intended personnel within the building; sorts and stacks boxes and packages for temporary storage. Uses significant manual skill to load/unload very heavy items onto
weight-handling devices. 10%
- Facilities Maintenance: Performs minor and routine maintenance tasks such as spot painting and making minor repairs to furniture. Replaces light bulbs in ceiling fixtures. Responsible for routine maintenance of equipment used for custodial and lawn-care work (e.g., cleaning, changing oil on lawnmowers, etc.). Washes exteriors and cleans interiors of automotive fleet vehicles.
Assembles and disassembles shelving and storage containers. Assists with conference room set-up for special events. Lifts and moves heavy furniture, equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds. May lift and move very heavy furniture, equipment, supplies, etc., through confined spaces. 10%
