Referral Coordinator

Bridgetown Veterinary Emergency and Referral (BVER) is a specialty animal hospital located in Portland Oregon. Our hospital team includes highly skilled veterinarians specializing in Emergency/Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Surgery, Ophthalmology and are supported by dedicated technicians and support staff.

Bridgetown is currently in search of a dynamic and client-oriented individual to join our team as a Referral Coordinator for the Surgery department. As the initial point of contact for new and existing clients, you will play a vital role in ensuring a positive and welcoming experience for both pets and their owners. Primary Job Duties:

  • The Referral Coordinator acts as the primary contact for pet parents who want/who have already scheduled an appointment with a Specialist or has general questions about our Specialty services.
  • The Referral Coordinator will also act at the primary administrative contact for referring clinics that wish to transfer a patient to our facility for further care (specialty transfer - such as setting up a consultation)
  • The Referral Coordinator is responsible for obtaining and reviewing referring veterinarian records for specialty appointments.
  • The Referral Coordinators work closely with the specialty department doctors, technicians and the client service team to promote an efficient workflow. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a customer service role in a veterinary setting is required. Specialty experience is preferred. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking abilities, and a high attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of veterinary management software. (ezyVet knowledge a plus!)
  • Compassion for animals and a genuine interest in their well-being.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations with professionalism.
