Lead or Executive Housekeeper

Position Summary:

Our clients are a busy Palm Beach couple with a long-tenured staff. They would like to hire an outstanding private service Lead or Executive Housekeeper to help with key organizational tasks and perform the daily hands-on cleaning of their home. Their current Lead Housekeeper is retiring this summer.

 

Responsibilities:

• Reports to the Estate Manager and coordinates with other PB team members – this role does not supervise the other Housekeepers.
• Assume responsibility for the general and specialty cleaning of the home, including care of fine materials and surfaces.
• Follow a cleaning schedule.
• Perform a daily walkthrough to identify potential issues.
• Assist the principals with personal shopping and running errands, including online purchases.
• Answer the phones and door with professional courtesy.
• Assist the Chef with simple breakfast items and table service.
• Meet and supervise vendors as needed.
• The team shares rotating responsibility for weekend walkthroughs in the offseason.

 

Qualifications:

• Must have prior experience working as a Lead or Executive Housekeeper in a fine home for a private employer with excellent, verifiable references.
• Kind and thoughtful – must blend well with the current team.
• Exceptional hands-on cleaning experience.
• Critical thinker, highly organized, and plans ahead.
• A problem solver who enjoys tackling a request from the principals.
• Able to read the room and a willingness to embrace the rhythms of the home and principals.
• The ideal candidate is seeking a long-term opportunity.

 

Schedule:

This is a full-time role, Sunday - Thursday (Sundays are 7:00 am to 4:00 pm and weekdays are either 8:00 am to 4:00 pm or 10:00 am to 6:00 pm). Flexibility needed for occasional evening hours to assist with entertaining.

 

During the offseason (June - October) the housekeepers enjoy a lighter schedule, Monday – Friday, with no change in compensation.

 

Compensation:

Compensation of $45-50/hour offered, depending on experience, with excellent benefits (including health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) and paid time off).
