We are currently looking for team members to join us full-time or part-time day or night shifts, hours can be flexible. (Some holiday hours required)

Job Summary

The Hospital Aide/ Kennel Assistant maintains and organizes the hospital to ensure hospital readiness and efficiency. Hospital Aides/ Kennel Assistants are responsible for working in all areas of the hospital, including but not limited to animal husbandry, maintaining hospital cleanliness, and patient care.  They act as a liaison between patients, clients, and the doctors.  Hospital Aides provide support to staff as needed. 

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Foster a culture built on our values: Respect, Learning, Do the Right Thing, WOW Service, and Fun.
  • Clean, disinfect, and prepare exam rooms, medical equipment.
  • Set up kennels/cages for hospitalized patients.
  • Clean and disinfect cages, pens, runs, and boarding areas.
  • Feed, water, bathe, and exercise pets during their visit.
  • Maintain a clean hospital including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, disposing of trash, and laundry.
  • Sanitize and maintain a tidy backyard and outdoor hospital space.
  • Report any potential hazards or inventory needs observed.
  • Stock supplies and products.
  • Provide professional, efficient, quality care, and exceptional service to clients while maintaining maximum productivity.
  • Support a practice environment that promotes collaboration and teamwork and ensures the delivery of quality, compassionate, effective, and efficient health care to pets.
  • Comply with all practice policies, quality assurance guidelines, and minimum standards of care.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Experience in an animal care setting is preferred, but not required.

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred

  • Basic written, verbal, and active listening communication skills with a customer-oriented approach.
  • Basic judgement and problem-solving skills.
  • Compassion and empathy for both pets and pet owners.
  • Interact with a variety of clients and employees in a professional, caring, compassionate, and tactful manner.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Handle and maintain sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to identify and foresee problems, present solutions and collaborate as a team player.
