SUPERVISOR PRODUCTION

Production Supervisor - 3rd shift, 10:00pm - 7:30am

Peace River Citrus Products, Inc. – Clower Facility

SUMMARY:

This position facilitates the production process to run seamless and accurately.  This position provides direction and training to production supervisors and assists them in the coordination of production operation.  The process supervisor implements the operation manager’s goals and objectives to support the process of day-to-day activities.   The operations manager reports to the Operations Manager.  The operations manager will be the back-up person for this position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees the production packaging supervisor activities
  • Facilitates and ensures production flows seamlessly and fulfills manufacturing requirements.
  • Uses effective leadership, planning, technical, communication, and coaching skills to empower work teams to produce high quality products that meet production needs in the most cost-effective manner.
  • Establishes safety as the top priority in training, equipment & job design, work assignments, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensures product safety: establishes high performance standards in Housekeeping, GMPs, regulatory guidelines, and HACCP.
  • Ensures product quality: establishes an attitude of "right the first time" performance.
  • Organizes daily production requirements to consistently meet manufacturing expectations.
  • Evaluates team performance efficiencies and identifies inefficiencies. 
  • Develops tactical plans to meet manufacturing needs in a timely implementation.
  • Coaches, teaches, and provides opportunities for team members to develop their business, technical, and social skills.
  • Complies with company policy and guidelines, treating all team members with dignity, respect, and fairness.
  • Works effectively with peers in the other functional areas.
  • Identifies and implements effective solutions to root causes of problems. 
  • Comply with FDA, USDA, and GMP policies.  Perform all tasks in a safe manner to ensure achievement of Quality, Food Safety, and Cost objectives.  Comply with all standard operating procedures and requirements under PRCP Quality System.
  • Participate in the quality improvement process.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

                                                                                                                                      

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or commensurate experience preferred to be qualified for the position - Minimum of (10) ten years-experience in a in a food processing facilities or similar setting.
  • Previous experience in an FDA / USDA / GMP regulated industry.
  • Knowledge - Strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment, systems and tools, as well as, productivity principles and practices.
  • Lean Manufacturing or 5S experience desired
  • Computer and keyboarding skills -Excel, Databases, and Word Processing
  • Must be able to work overtime when necessary, including extended hours or weekends
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Comfortable and capable seeing the big picture; able to think conceptually and strategically, yet deliver measurable results as a “hands-on” contributor.
