Production Blending Supervisor

Blending Supervisor - 3rd Shift (10:00pm - 7:30am)

Peace River Citrus Products, Inc. – Clower Facility

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for the day-to-day operation of blending and processing of manufactured juice.  Overseeing supervisors’ workloads and monitoring employee and product issues.  Reporting to the Operations Manager.  Ensures employees receive training, reviews new and revised SOPs.  Monitors and ensures efficient operation and meeting business targets and quality standards.  Fosters a culture of working safety, keeps safety as a #1 focus for al.  Communicates to management regarding people, process, and equipment issues.  Works with other departments, such as; maintenance, quality, and warehouse to ensure efficient production output of blending and processing product.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees blending, processing (pasteurizing) tanker unloader area, and other labor.
  • Ensures employees have the tools to complete all work tasks.  This includes intellectual property, SOPs, and equipment training.
  • Approves of vacations, schedules, recommends promotions & transfers, disciplines, works with human resources, as needed.
  • Brings a positive and energized attitude and behavior setting a good example for the department.
  • Plans and motivates employees to perform at a higher level and multitask.
  • Partners with the packaging area for seamless wholistic product transfers and output.
  • Reports daily operational issues, recommendations for continuous improvement and lean manufacturing, material quantity levels.
  • Ensures the department is coordinating efforts with quality and warehouse.
  • Works with maintenance and planning for smooth production schedule.
  • Writes some SOPs.
  • Works with computers and other electronic communication devices; including programs to prepare documents or reports, as necessary.
  • Writes reports, administers coaching & counseling, keeps current with electronic mail, and is available during off hours for communications, etc.
  • Comply with FDA, USDA, and GMP policies.  Perform all tasks in a safe manner to ensure achievement of Quality, Food Safety, and Cost objectives.  Comply with all standard operating procedures and requirements under PRCP Quality System.
  • Meets all “Good Manufacturing Practices”.  Promotes a clean culture in the facility and other affective areas.
  • Practices safety requirements established by OSHA and Peace River Citrus Products.
  • Be available to work extended shifts and days. Available during off hours.
  • Any additional duties assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Attention to detail, accurate with numbers/ good math skills, well organized, professional appearance, and communication.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing of blending and processing.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Preferred forklift experience.
  • Utilizes advance skills of reading, writing, speaking, analytical capacity and high level of professional judgment to resolve problems affecting work area.
  • Applies communication skills to perform work and coordinate with others.  Able to communicate at all levels of management and personnel.
  • Ability to take prompt and appropriate response to operating conditions.
  • Able to work well with other department leadership & employees, including senior level management.
  • Be flexible regarding duties, as directed by leadership.
  • Physical Demands: The position requires that employees must be able lift, carry, pull and push equipment, materials and other required items up to 50 pounds. Predominantly the position requires standing / walking for up to 10 hours per shift. In addition, vision (including color vision), hearing and smelling are essential functions of the position.
  • Build relationships with internal and external key stakeholders to understand their requirements and address requests/issues in a timely fashion.
  • Participate in the quality improvement process.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
