Systems Engineer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

All areas of responsibility listed below are essential to the satisfactory performance of this position, with reasonable accommodation, if necessary.  Any non-essential functions are assumed to be included in "other related duties as assigned":

  • Analyze and documents customer requirements during the pre-sales support for the software/hardware solutions sold and provide technical support for customized demonstrations.
  • Work to provide a solid design and implementation of software/hardware solution that meets the customer's business and technical requirements.
  • Develop statement of work, and implementation plans, as well as coordinates third-party resources as needed.  Obtain commitment to activities and schedule and maintains the schedule.
  • Implement and provide post-sale support for the recommended solution.
  • Diagnose and resolves application, software, and connectivity problems requiring on-site support.
  • Deliver on-going training for customers and bill when appropriate.
  • Work with the customer to research additional revenue opportunities.
  • Make recommendations on process improvement and provides documentation as well as necessary return on investment to support recommended improvement.
  • Implement, train, and support process improvement that the presales analyst recommends.
  • Assist in training the organization in the hardware/software solutions that you support.
  • Provide training, support, and guidance to the Systems Engineers on the team.
  • Research and make recommendations of new solutions we should sell and support.
  • Responsible for ongoing personal skill development through the attainment of appropriate certifications and attendance at training.
  • Responsible for understanding, staying updated on, and abiding by the Employee Handbook as written.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications/Requirements:   

  • Minimum of two days in office weekly.
  • Valid Driver's license and clean driving record required.
  • Highly skilled in IT applications and in communicating technically with client IT professionals.
  • Advanced working knowledge of the Windows 2012+ Server Operating Systems, Windows 8+ Desktop Operating Systems, and Macintosh Operating Systems. Application knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; in addition, knowledge of Citrix, ASP Modeling, and Terminal Services Environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to internal and external customers, peers, and supervisors.
  • Ability to work successfully in a team or independent business environment.
  • Ability to focus on high customer satisfaction levels as a mode of normal operation and possess effective follow-up and closing out of problems.
  • A balance of technical and people skills and demonstrated consultative selling approach experience.
  • A personal style that is proactive and self-motivated.

                                                                                         

Education/Experience:

  • BA/BS or Technical College Degree is strongly preferred.
  • MCSE, MCP or CDIA+ certifications preferred.
  • Requires 2 to 4 years of technical sales support and/or industry-related experience with verifiable, successful hardware, software, and solution performance history.
