Carpenter

Summary:   To perform and or instruct general carpenter skills both rough and finish of wood,

                     metal, masonry, indigenous and composition materials, and to perform and/or

                     instruct in mill work cabinet making and repairs.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1.   Perform repairs of all structures including walls, doors, flooring, both interior and

      exterior, rough and finish work.

2.   Perform cabinet and furniture repairs and new construction.

3.   Provide cost and labor estimates for new construction, remodel, cabinets, and

      equipment installations in accordance with local, state and OSHA requirements.

4.   Provide inventory status and make weekly recommendations for required parts

      and supplies.

5.   Train associates in safe and proper procedures of carpentry tools, equipment,

      repairs and construction techniques in accordance with local, state, and OSHA

      requirements.

6.   Acquire a working knowledge of the Lodge and facilities to respond appropriately

      to guest questions, as required.

7.   Keep supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters

      of significance coming to her/his attention so prompt action can be taken when

      appropriate.

8.   Will perform other duties as required.

Education and/or Experience  Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills   Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Missouri class E or Arkansas class D with a “P” endorsement designated driver's license and a safe driving record is required.

Other Skills and Abilities   The ability to work well with a team, to prioritize, a sense of urgency and a real concern for guest satisfaction is required.
