Job Description

M. Braun, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Project Engineer.  This person will be responsible for both Project Management and Engineering/Design aspects of key high-specification projects, and will have overall responsibility for the successful completion of projects under their direct management.  Depending on project needs, this may require performing aspects of both positions or coordinating with Project Managers and Engineers/Designers to accomplish tasks.

Job functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating mechanical design, electrical design, and programming for projects
  • Occasional modelling and drawing in PTC Creo
  • Research and specify purchased components to meet system requirements.
  • Review specifications and ensure design meets all applicable specifications and standards.
  • Processing department related nonconformances when required.
  • Managing complex projects for key customers, government agencies and/or classified as NQA1.
  • Creating design verification documentation, including forms required by quality programs.
  • Meeting with customers to define and clarify objectives and deliverables per detailed contract specifications. 
  • Creating and managing project schedules including key project milestones and critical path tasks including progress payments
  • Providing leadership and guidance to the project team including members from the production, electrical, service, quality and sales departments on all matters related to project schedules and deliverables.
  • Communicating efficiently and effectively the key dates and activities that must be completed to ensure a successful result.
  • Following up on actions assigned to team members for confirmation of completeness and accuracy.
  • Learn and clearly understand the functionality of M. Braun's Navision ERP system.
  • Escalate problems in a timely manner to address potential pitfalls and impediments to schedule completion.
  • Attend department meetings and provide detailed project information to management.
  • Support the sales team during the quotation phase when required.  This includes job costing and producing project timelines.
  • Enter drawing packages into the ERP system to create the bill of materials (BOM).
  • Work with suppliers to secure quotes for all custom, fabricated, and purchased parts. Select the best option for fabrication partners among approved suppliers qualified to fabricate custom parts.
  • Create and send installation requirements to the customer.
  • Domestic and international travel as required.
  • Any other duties required for this position.

Job Requirements

  • Experience using CAD system, PTC Creo preferred.
  • Experience reading and interpreting mechanical part and assembly drawings
  • Experience with gas handling equipment, HVAC machinery, or gas process piping/tubing desired.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic, piping, electro-mechanical automation systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing procedures, processes, materials and finishes.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Experience with P&ID.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • US Citizenship (due to federal contracts in place, only US Citizens are eligible for consideration)

Education Requirements

Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent
