POSITION SUMMARY: The Evidence and Property Technician performs a variety of technical and specialized clerical and practical duties involved in receiving, processing, storing, safeguarding, delivering, releasing, and disposing of property and evidence. Maintains an inventory of evidence and property and ensures the safe and careful handling of evidence and property, protecting its integrity through the judicial process. Helps develop proper procedures and policies related to evidence and property and may be called upon to train other employees in proper procedures related to evidence and property. Assist in processing, cataloging, receiving and securing evidence at crime scenes as well as other administrative duties, as needed and directed. This position works under the supervision and reports directly to a Police Sergeant, and indirectly to a Police Lieutenant, the Assistant Police Chief, and the Police Chief. 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:  The starting hourly wage is $21.70 per hour and will increase to $22.57 per hour after 6 months of successful probation

MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING
High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
One (1) year of experience in working with the public required. 
 
MISCELLANEOUS REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must possess a valid driver's license and must be insurable under the City of Branson's motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the position. 
Must possess or obtain Evidence Management certification within 6 months of hire date.
Must possess or obtain CSI (Crime Scene Investigator) certification within twelve (12) months of hire date.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with particular expertise in Word and Excel. 
Must be highly engaged in the department's goals, and be able to work cooperatively with City of Branson leadership in achieving those goals.
Must demonstrate excellent customer service to the department's internal or external customers. 
Must possess a high degree of integrity, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 
Must possess strong analytical and logical problem solving skills, strong interpersonal communication and relational skills, good organizational project management skills, sound judgment, initiative, flexibility, and be detail-oriented.  
Must possess no felony convictions at any time while employed by the City of Branson.
Must be willing to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
Tattoos, Scarification, Body Art, and Body Modifications must meet the City of Branson Employee Appearance at Work policy.
Must act safely and follow safety standards while at work. 
Must be able to pass a background investigation and drug and alcohol screenings.


WORK HOURS:              Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30pm; Occasional After Hours Needed

WORK LOCATION:        City of Branson, Missouri; City Hall.  This is an in office position requiring work to be performed onsite.
