Finance Director

POSITION SUMMARY:  The Finance Director is responsible for managing, directing, and supervising the activities of the Finance Department and for performing highly complex professional-level accounting analysis. This position will be responsible for policy development/revision activities and is expected to explain/interpret policy to other employees in the Finance Department and to employees in various City departments. They will be involved with the planning, development, implementation, operation, and coordination of the City's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system with integration with Financial modules; data interfaces from various City Department information systems; personal computer (PC) applications; and communications within the Finance Department. This position works under the direct supervision of the City Administrator.


WORK HOURS: Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Some after hours are required.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:  The starting salary range is $101,248.11 - $125,000Those that exceed the minimum requirements for the position have the opportunity to start at a higher annual salary.  Please click on this link for total compensation and benefits information.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING

• A Bachelor's degree from an institution of higher learning accredited by the U.S. Department of Education through one of its regional accrediting agencies is required; the focus of education must be in Accounting, Finance, or closely related field.
         o Six (6) years of experience in Accounting, Finance, or a related field may be substituted as determined by the Department Director.   
• Seven (7) years of increasingly responsible professional accounting or finance experience, at least two (2) years of which were in a supervisory capacity, preferably in a municipal government environment, is required.  
 
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING
• Possession of a Certificate in Public Accounting is preferred.
• Possession of a Master's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field is preferred. 
• Experience in a municipal government environment is preferred. 
 
MISCELLANEOUS REQUIREMENTS
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must be highly engaged in the department's goals, and be able to work cooperatively with City of Branson leadership in achieving those goals.
• Must demonstrate excellent customer service to the department's internal or external customers. 
• Must possess a high degree of integrity, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 
• Must possess strong analytical and logical problem solving skills, strong interpersonal communication and relational skills, good organizational project management skills, sound judgment, initiative, flexibility, and be detail-oriented.  
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with particular expertise in Word and Excel. 
• Must possess no felony convictions at any time while employed by the City of Branson.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and must be insurable under the City of Branson's motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the position. 
• Must act safely and follow safety standards while at work. 
• Must be able to pass a background investigation and drug and alcohol screenings.
