Qualifications:

Minimum of 20 year(s) of experience in Project Management in Design and Construction environment OR BA/BS Degree in General Engineering, Landscape Architect, Architect, Project Manager

  • Project management, historical architecture, experience with Secretary of Interior?s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. Project Management Professional (PMP); Experience in managing A/E projects from design through construction. Experience working with historic structures and landscapes.
  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point
Duties:

Enrollee supports disaster recovery projects at National Park Service (NPS) units within the Pacific West Region including Sequoia and Kings Canyons National Parks, Death Valley National Park, and potentially other NPS units with disaster recovery projects. Enrollee serves as an Engineering Advisor under the direction of the park superintendent, and/or park facilities management staff and is responsible for initiating, establishing, guiding, and controlling multiple design/construction projects from inception (contracting) through completion.

  • Reviews damage assessments documents and assesses site challenges to confirm approach and requirements for asset restoration.   20%
  • Assists Park staff in the development of procurement packages for facility repair projects to include technical scopes of work (SOWs), drawings, specifications, IGCEs and technical evaluation factors for recovery-related facility repair projects.   40%
  • Supports development of PMIS projects, investment review documents, monthly updates on progress and milestone schedules, and coordinates with SEKI staff on completion of compliance process.   10%
  • Applies knowledge of regional facilities management programs to leverage other funding sources for needed recovery work.   10%
  • Advising Park staff on contracting and facilities maintenance processes and procedures unique to NPS to advance disaster program objectives.   20%

  • Overnight travel: Limited travel, subject to enrollee availability.
  • Air travel anticipated: Occasional travel by air may be required.
  • Rental cars: Possibly.
  • Health and Safety Considerations: Review of appropriate Job Hazard Analyses for defensive driving, field work, working on construction sites, etc.
  • Required Safety Gear: PPE such as hardhats and construction yellow vests, possibly radio will be provided for site visits, but enrollee should have PPE such as work boots and protective clothing.
  • Safety Gear Use: While at project sites
  • Physical requirements: Work is generally performed in an office setting, with occasional field work involving moderate risks of construction operations. Limited travel to project sites is expected.
  • Remote work arrangements are available for this position.
